Bupa UK renews role as Official Healthcare Partner for ParalympicsGB

Bupa has renewed its commitment as the Official Healthcare Partner of ParalympicsGB following a successful three-year relationship.

The new deal will continue to provide British Paralympians with high quality healthcare to compete at their best at Milano-Cortina 2026 and LA 2028.

Building on the success of the partnership over the past three years, athletes will continue to have access to a wide range of Bupa services to help them reach peak performance. This includes GP and dental services, Bupa Health Assessments that provide a full, personalised overview of current and prospective health and wellbeing, and a brand new Medication Check service that uses DNA testing to help people get the right medicine, at the right dose, first time.

Since the inception of the partnership, Bupa has worked to challenge perceptions around disability, promote inclusivity as better for business, address taboos and break down barriers in society. Bupa has become accredited with the Plain English and Plain Numbers campaigns, partnered with Channel 4 and others to promote inclusivity across TV, digital and social media advertising, and awarded numerous community grants to disability inclusion projects.

Bupa’s ‘Health is’ campaign, which challenged traditional perceptions of health by showcasing the personal lives of para-athletes, was viewed by more than 7.4m people during Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Bupa also champions inclusivity in business through its Team Health Challenge initiative, which, now in its third year, brings together hundreds of FTSE100 organisations and SMEs to grow understanding of how inclusive teams are better for business.

Carlos Jaureguizar, CEO for Bupa Global, India and UK said: “Our partnership with ParalympicsGB has gone from strength to strength, providing world-class healthcare to elite athletes to perform at their physical and mental best, as well as learning from the Paralympian community on the true meaning of inclusion.

“Championing diversity is central to who we are at Bupa, where we stand by our commitment that everyone is welcome. This renewed collaboration strengthens our mission to inclusive healthcare, where by shifting perceptions of disability in society, we make a better world for all.”

Dave Clarke, Chief Executive for ParalympicsGB said: “Our partnership with Bupa is grounded on shared values of excellence, respect and integrity. Bupa’s belief and support for what we do, on and off the field of play enables us to make a lasting impact both for our current and future athletes, as well as the disabled community more widely.”

Bupa’s partnership with ParalympicsGB is one of Bupa Group’s nine Paralympic worldwide partnerships, supporting Paralympic teams with their health and wellbeing in Spain, Australia, Poland, New Zealand, Mexico, Hong Kong, Ecuador and Chile.
