We know that in many places there are real and genuine barriers when it comes to people accessing healthcare. It can be difficult, take too much time, and in many cases the costs of accessing healthcare can be high. We are continuing to transform our products and services to be more affordable, accessible and deliver healthcare sustainably. Our products and services are increasingly designed to keep people healthy, identify diseases early, and minimise disease progression.
We’re championing a shift towards preventative healthcare approaches – helping people stay healthy rather than just treating them when they become unwell.
We’re committed to providing products and services that keep people well, identify diseases early, and minimise disease progression. This involves primary prevention (avoiding disease onset), secondary prevention (early disease detection and intervention), and health promotion (enhancing people’s existing health).
These solutions are better for health systems – reducing the burden on healthcare system capacity, and better for the planet – using up fewer resources than treating illness.

Blua - Digital health by Bupa offers Bupa customers convenient access to digital health services through the Bupa app. Services available through Blua include: virtual appointments with a doctor, nurse or specialist (by video call or phone), online health and wellbeing programmes to help people stay well, or get well, and remote healthcare services such as medicines, equipment and health monitoring at home.
Remote care is transforming the way care is delivered – making it faster, more convenient, and more responsive – addressing specific health issues. Removing traveling to routine health checks also contributes to reducing carbon emissions from the healthcare sector.
