Bupa transforms how intermediaries deliver tailored healthcare solutions

  • Bupa creates single-contact UK commercial function across Bupa Global (IPMI) and UK insurance
  • One relationship for easier intermediary engagement with Bupa to deliver tailored healthcare solutions for clients
  • Led by Richard Norris in an expanded role as Commercial Director for UK Insurance

Bupa has simplified how intermediaries access and engage with its insurance businesses by bringing together its UK Insurance and UK-based Bupa Global (IPMI) commercial teams, strengthening its proposition in a competitive and evolving global market.

Led by Richard Norris in his expanded role as Commercial Director for UK Insurance, the unified function enables intermediaries to seamlessly interact with Bupa through a single relationship, providing a clearer route to market and easier access to its complete portfolio of healthcare solutions.

Richard Norris, Commercial Director for Bupa UK Insurance, said: “We have listened to our intermediary partners calling for a single point of access to Bupa. By bringing our UK Insurance and UK-based Bupa Global commercial teams together, we can combine our expertise to better support intermediaries and customers.

“This integration reinforces our commitment to the UK and support for intermediaries to deliver connected healthcare solutions to meet the evolving needs of their clients, both in the UK and overseas.”

Through a single front door, intermediaries benefit from a more streamlined experience while retaining direct access to specialist expertise across Bupa – enabling them to deliver complete healthcare solutions which are both tailored and connected.

This supports Bupa’s ambition to deliver a seamless healthcare experience for every customer, bringing together health cover, healthcare services, treatment pathways and digital tools to enable faster access to care, support prevention through early intervention, and help deliver better health outcomes for customers.

For intermediaries, this provides a clear competitive advantage when recommending Bupa, particularly to businesses with employees in the UK and internationally, who are increasingly seeking comprehensive, joined-up and prevention-focused healthcare solutions that support both wellbeing and long-term costs across their workforce.

Anthony Cabrelli, Managing Director for Bupa Global, said: “Many of our customers access care across the UK and internationally, and their needs can vary depending on where they live and work. What they want is simplicity and reassurance – through a single relationship and one team that can understand and manage their care wherever they are in the world.

“By bringing together our UK Insurance and UK-based Bupa Global commercial teams, we’re making it easier for intermediaries to access the best Bupa has to offer, drawing on UK capability alongside international cover through Bupa Global to seamlessly support customers with international healthcare needs.”

The integrated model unlocks insights from across Bupa’s UK Insurance and global customer base, giving intermediaries greater visibility of emerging customer trends and enabling richer, data led conversations that inform tailored solutions.

It also supports Bupa’s ambition to create a more seamless digital experience. Its My Bupa digital healthcare app already supports 2.9 million UK Insurance customers, while 215,000 Bupa Global customers use MembersWorld. Bupa plans to further connect these digital journeys to deliver a more integrated and connected healthcare experience for customers, regardless of where they access care.
