Bupa announces new partnership with physiotherapy provider Ascenti
Bupa has announced a new strategic partnership with healthcare provider Ascenti, to offer face-to-face physiotherapy appointments across the UK.
The partnership will benefit Bupa customers, including business customers, who will have access to Ascenti’s network of physiotherapists at more than 300 clinics nationwide, as well as having the flexibility to speak to a physiotherapist through Bupa’s Physioline.
In the UK, around 20 million people are living with a musculoskeletal problem. Issues such as back and neck pain were the third highest cause of workplace absence in 2022, accounting for 14.5% of all lost working hours.
Ian Southerland, Operations Director at Bupa Health Clinics said: “Over the last few years, we’ve seen demand grow for our physiotherapy services. Whether this is aches and pains from increased working from home, injuries from taking up new exercises or to help with niggling issues, people are looking for more places to get support.
“We’re very pleased to launch our partnership with Ascenti which will give our customers greater flexibility and choice of where they can access treatment.”
Kevin Doyle, Chief Commercial Officer at Ascenti said: “We are delighted to partner with Bupa and provide their members with rapid access to high-quality musculoskeletal care. This is a hugely exciting partnership for Ascenti, and it's a privilege to work with a pioneering healthcare organisation like Bupa, which shares our values and commitment to improving the quality of customers’ lives.
“We look forward to developing this relationship and collaborating with Bupa on a long-term strategy that will further enhance the customer journey through digital innovation and the introduction of specialist services.”
