- People’s health and the health of the planet are intrinsically linked, which is why sustainability is core to Bupa’s strategy and purpose.
- Bupa joins the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition, the collaboration led by the public-private healthcare sector to drive sustainable healthcare and business transformation.
Bupa, the international healthcare company, is proud to announce that it has joined the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition, a public-private healthcare collaboration, which has been established to drive sustainable healthcare and business transformation.
This partnership underpins Bupa’s ambition to become a net zero company by 2040 across its global healthcare operations and value chain. Working and learning through this partnership will help Bupa to make transformational progress this decade towards its net zero ambition.
Bupa’s Chief Sustainability and People Officer, Nigel Sullivan, said: “We have decided to partner with the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition to accelerate the progress needed to meet our ambition to become a net zero business by 2040.
We know we cannot secure a sustainable future alone. This means learning from each other, piloting new ideas, sharing insights and innovations openly. We must then ensure this knowledge is embedded in our organisations to provide and accelerate innovative and sustainable healthcare.”
Sustainable Healthcare Coalition Chair, Dr Fiona Adshead, commented: “Like all our members and partners, Bupa understands that using the power of increased collaborative action is in the interest of all in the healthcare sector to gain a better understanding of what is good for business and the healthcare system, good for the environment and health, and good for our common future.”
