Sanitas completes acquisition of Néctar Seguros de Salud

Sanitas S.A de Seguros (Sanitas) today announced it has completed on its agreement with Hermandad Nacional de Arquitectos Superiores y Químicos (HNA) to acquire Néctar Seguros de Salud, HNA's health insurance company. Regulatory approvals have been granted by the Spanish General Directorate for Insurance and Pension Funds and the National Commission on Markets and Competition.

As part of the deal, Néctar’s 34,000 insurance customers will join Sanitas. Néctar's employees will also become part of Sanitas, ensuring customers will continue to access their healthcare services without disruption.

This agreement is another example of Sanitas' commitment to health insurance - it currently ranks second in Spain with a market share of 17.6%. In 2017, Sanitas grew its insurance membership at a higher rate than the local market. This increase was largely a result of its strategic distribution agreements and enhanced customer experience through digital solutions
