Siobhan, Jesús and Clare will take up their roles in October 2026 reporting to Chris Carroll, CEO for Bupa Global, India and UK, subject to regulatory approval.
Chris Carroll, CEO for Bupa Global, India and UK, said: “These appointments build on our strategy to transform healthcare, develop partnerships, and drive expansion and growth in our key markets. As we move to the next phase of patient-centred connected care pathways, I am pleased to bring this depth of experience to our executive team. My thanks go to Anthony and Mark for their considerable contribution to Bupa, and we wish them every success for the future.”
Siobhan Moynihan is appointed General Manager for Bupa Global, having been Chief Financial Officer for the Bupa Global, India and UK market unit since rejoining Bupa in February 2022. She was Finance Director for Resolution Life, a global life insurance group, and held Finance Director roles across Bupa’s UK Insurance and Bupa Global businesses since 2015. Before joining Bupa, Siobhan held senior finance roles at Coventry Building Society, London Capital Group Holdings and Deloitte. With deep commercial experience across international health insurance and financial services, Siobhan will lead Bupa Global into its next stage of growth.
This appointment follows the decision by Anthony Cabrelli to retire. Anthony re-joined Bupa in October 2021 as Managing Director for Bupa Global, having previously held a 21-year career with Bupa in international leadership roles spanning general management, commercial leadership, operations, business transformation and new business start-ups. Anthony spent five years at United Healthcare Group as CEO for Global Solutions, also leading new market development and global benefits. Having led medical insurance businesses in-country and across international markets, Anthony has been a recognised voice of IPMI for over 40 years. Anthony will continue to work with Bupa in board and advisory roles to direct its future growth.
Progressing Bupa's strategy of integrated, preventive and customer-centred care, Jesús Bonilla is appointed General Manager for Bupa Dental Care. Jesús has built a successful 17-year career in Bupa’s Sanitas business in Spain, leading its healthcare provision businesses most recently as Managing Director for Sanitas Dental since 2020, and previous to this, General Manager for Sanitas Hospitals and Medical Centres. With in-depth knowledge of the dental sector, Jesús is passionate about patient-centred personalised care. He succeeds Mark Allan, who has led Bupa Dental Care’s strategy and transformation since 2022 and has decided to leave Bupa to pursue new opportunities.
Clare Binmore is appointed to the Bupa Global, India and UK Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer, having joined Bupa Group in 2022 as Group Performance and Finance Transformation Director. She joined Bupa from Aviva, where she was Group Strategy Director. Prior to this, she held senior finance roles at Friends Life UK, Swiss Re and PwC.
Iñaki Ereño, CEO for Bupa said: “These appointments are recognition of the unrivalled strength and pipeline of leading talent we have across Bupa to be at the forefront of market-leading innovation around the world and meet our customers’ evolving health needs.
“We know our customers look to Bupa for the highest standards, and we are committed to driving forward our transformation and leading health innovation to reach more people with choice, fast access and high-quality care to stay well for longer, and fulfil our purpose of helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world.”
