Bupa commits to opening 200 new mental health spaces globally over the next three years.
Bupa, a leader in international healthcare, today announced its commitment to expanding mental health services to better serve its existing and new customers. Over the next three years, the company commits to opening 200 mental health centres called Mindplaces worldwide, making high-quality, mental healthcare accessible to more people.
Iñaki Ereño, CEO Bupa Group said, “By expanding our mental health services, we are addressing one of the most pressing health challenges of our time.”
The new Mindplaces will offer walk-in services, as well as appointments and therapy programmes, including cognitive behaviour therapy and counselling — delivered by qualified professionals — both in person and online with links to digital mental health solutions. The Mindplaces will be found in all-new physical settings designed specifically with calm and wellbeing at their core. Bupa will also open Mindplaces in select existing facilities to reach more people who need these vital services. The development of these Mindplaces reflects Bupa’s long-term purpose to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world, recognising that mental healthcare is a fundamental part of good health.
“Good health is about more than treating physical symptoms; it’s about caring for the whole person. Mental health is a fundamental part of our overall health, and we should take care of our minds just as we do our bodies. As a healthcare company, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure more people have access to the support and care they need,” added Ereño.
The first wave of Mindplaces will launch in the coming months across the UK, Spain, and Australia, building on the success of the company’s existing Harmonia mental health clinics in Poland. These clinics, which inspired the Mindplace by Bupa initiative, are already established within Lux Med, Bupa’s business in Poland. As the global demand for mental health support continues to rise, Bupa remains committed to leading the delivery of innovative mental health solutions for a healthier future for everyone.
