Dr Paula Franklin, Chief Medical Officer at Bupa, and Trustee of the Bupa Foundation has been named one of the 100 most influential people of African, African Caribbean and African American heritage in the UK.
Now in its 15th year, The Powerlist 2021 honours incredible men and women across a wide range of industries including business, science, technology and the arts. The list was topped by racing driver Lewis Hamilton.
The independent judging panel looked at people who have the "ability to change lives and alter events, as demonstrated over a protracted period of time and in a positive manner".
Dr Paula Franklin said, “It’s an honour to be named amongst so many inspiring men and women and to celebrate the talents and achievements of black people in the UK.”

Paula was appointed Chief Medical Officer, Bupa Group, in August 2019, having held a number of senior medical roles since joining the company in 1996. She is the Executive sponsor for Bupa’s global inclusion and diversity agenda, specifically for promoting women and BAME colleagues in leadership.
Her role as Trustee of the Bupa Foundation sees her working with charities across the UK; and she is on the Advisory Council of the Black Women in Leadership Network.
EMpower recently named Paula as one of the UK’s top 10 Ethnic Minority Executives and she was ranked in the HERoes 2020 list as a leader who champions diversity in the workplace.
