Bupa is sponsoring this year’s RHS Greener Futures Summit, hosted at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, reinforcing its commitment to helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives, and making a better world by supporting healthier environments for communities.
Taking place on Wednesday 20 May at the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the Greener Futures Summit will bring together more than 100 global leaders from business, health, science, design and policy to explore the relationship between human health, nature and climate.
Hosted by RHS President, Keith Weed, the Summit will focus on how the places where people live influence both mental and physical wellbeing, and how organisations can respond to the challenges of a changing climate. Bupa will join as the healthcare partner, alongside editorial partners The Times and The Sunday Times.
The event builds on the success of previous years, welcoming Professor Melvin Samsom, Group Chief Medical and Sustainability Officer, Bupa, and Anna Russel, Director of Sustainability for Bupa Global, India and UK, and Bupa Foundation, to join the stage alongside a diverse mix of speakers to offer unique perspectives from their field of expertise.
Zoe Vafadari, Chief Brand and External Communications Officer, Bupa, comments; “The RHS Chelsea Flower Show provides a powerful global platform to bring new perspectives into the conversation about climate, nature and the future of our communities. At Bupa, we see this as an important opportunity to emphasise the connection between environmental change and human health, while championing the role that healthier environments play in supporting longer, happier lives. This is about showing up, sharing our expertise, and working across sectors to help shape healthier futures for us all.”
James Wren, Director of Development and Shows commented; “The RHS Greener Futures Summit is about rethinking how we live and the environments we create. Working with Bupa will help us to strengthen the connection between nature and health, and to inspire action across industries.”
Sponsorship of the Summit builds on the Bupa Foundation’s support of the YoungMinds garden, with guests of the Summit invited to visit the biodiverse plant-rich design that highlights the crushing pressures affecting young people’s mental health and the importance of community to help them thrive.
The sponsorship reflects Bupa’s broader Sustainability strategy to support healthier societies by addressing the environmental and social factors that influence wellbeing.
