Consultants at Bupa Cromwell Hospital and their medical secretaries are using a new app to view and organise their daily schedules and offer a more efficient service to patients.
Designed by Bupa UK IT, the Cromwell Clinician App enables consultants to quickly and securely view their daily outpatient clinic appointments, theatre times and patients admitted to the hospital. They can also search by patient, send requests to share information with another consultant when a patient is referred, and set up alerts as reminders of clinic times.
Previously, consultants may have used a printed list, which was not automatically updated during the day. Now, they can view real-time information up to six weeks ahead on their mobile or tablet, accessed using biometric fingerprint authorisation.
Davendra Sharma, Consultant Urologist at Bupa Cromwell Hospital, has found the app very useful. He said: "The Clinician App is a simple and readily accessible tool which brings great clarity to the busy working week!”
The app is available to all consultants or medical personnel who lead a clinic. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with around 25% of Bupa’s top consultants using the app already.
