A groundbreaking start for our new homes

20 January 2017 . United Kingdom

Bupa are currently investing £39.5m in developing four new care homes.

Located at the former BBC news site ‘Pebble Mill’ in Edgbaston, Birmingham, the new care home will form part of a new healthcare centre of excellence providing elderly nursing, dementia and residential care, and is due to open in spring 2018.

Three further new care home sites will be in Leeds, Scunthorpe and Haywards Heath and will open in late 2017 and early 2018.

Local Mayors and schoolchildren supported the start of the construction by burying time capsules at the ground breaking events for each home.

Construction of the homes, which will have between 62 and 84 beds each, has now started. Beauty salons, activities rooms and en-suite bedrooms in beautifully landscaped gardens are just some to the things our future residents can look forward to.

Haywards Heath will be the new, purpose built, care home for staff and residents at our Downlands Park Care Home and will open in winter 2017. Our new home in East Leeds is due to open in spring 2018 and in Scunthorpe building work has begun on the 77-bed home and eight separate assisted living flats, the work is also due for completion in spring 2018.
