Bupa is delighted to be a sponsor of the Responsible Business Awards 2019 celebrating organisations making a positive social and environmental impact.
The awards, run by Business in the Community (BITC), recognise businesses who make a difference by taking action to build more inclusive workplaces, stronger communities and who address global challenges.
The Bupa Health and Wellbeing Award is one of 11 categories. The award recognises employers transforming health and wellbeing in the workplace. The judges were looking for health and wellbeing approaches that demonstrate qualities including businesses taking a ‘whole organisation’ approach to embedding wellbeing into the organisation culture, that are informed by insights and evidence, and support the physical, mental, financial and social health of its employees.
Mark Allan, Commercial Director Bupa UK Insurance, said: “As a member of the BITC Wellbeing Leadership team I'm delighted that Bupa has chosen to sponsor this particular award. It's a key area of focus for us, and it was a real privilege to chair the judging panel and see the quality of the shortlisted entries. There is no doubt that a focus on wellbeing is a key part of any forward-thinking company's employee value proposition."
The judging panel for the Bupa Health and Wellbeing Award included representatives from Bupa, Nuffield, National Grid, Unipart and the What Works centre for Wellbeing.
The finalists are GSK, Kier, Anglian Water, Tesco, Costain and Heathrow.
Louise Aston, Wellbeing Director Business in the Community, said “The quality of the entries from our six finalists are progressive and articulate what ‘great’ looks like. They take a preventative, whole person approach, demonstrate strong leadership, with health and wellbeing positioned as strategic boardroom issues. Wellbeing is truly embedded into their organisational cultures and all six collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including suppliers and the communities they serve.
“Thanks to Bupa’s sponsorship of this award, we are able to promote excellent case studies that will inspire other employers to take action.”
