Zabida Khan, a nursery nurse at Teddies in Woking has won Most Outstanding Nursery Nurse at Bupa's annual SHINE awards.
Parents, colleagues and managers from Teddies Nursery in Woking nominated Zabida Khan for her award. Zabida, who has been with Teddies for two years, works in the Learning Centre with children aged between two and five.
Samantha Rose, manager, Teddies said: "We are not surprised that Zabida has won this top award. No one exceeds their job description more than Zabida - she is truly one of life's naturals when it comes to the care of and devotion to children."
The Teddies' SHINE awards - 'Showing How Investment Nurtures Excellence' - recognises the excellent contributions to childcare made by the people who work for the nursery chain at each of its 32 nurseries.
Zabida Khan added: "I started working as a nursery nurse when I was just 18 and being nominated for this award is definitely a highlight in my career. Being short-listed was really exciting, but when I was announced as the winner, I was so overwhelmed I could barley move! I feel honoured to have been chosen as Teddies most outstanding nursery nurse.
"I would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and children at the nursery in Woking. I just love being a nursery nurse and look forward to creating and sharing many more happy memories there."
