Bupa Cromwell Hospital appoints new medical director

Bupa Cromwell Hospital has appointed a new medical director, Mr Paul Montgomery, it has been announced today.

Paul joins Bupa Cromwell Hospital after 14 years at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he held posts as clinical director of the ear, nose and throat, and plastic surgery departments.

Bupa Cromwell Hospital chief executive, Michele Lahey, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Paul Montgomery to the Bupa Cromwell Hospital. He brings a wealth of healthcare experience to his new role as medical director. A consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon, Paul has an outstanding clinical record, which has been recognised with a bronze excellence award from the Department of Health.

This year, Bupa Cromwell Hospital celebrates its 30 year anniversary. Opening in 1981, the hospital performed Europe's first liver transplant in 1998. More recently, the hospital was the first to install Tomotherapy[1] and in 2010, appointed the UK's first infection prevention and control nurse.
