Bupa Individual Protection has won praise for its tele-interview service in a survey of more than 800 independent financial advisers.
Bupa's tele-interview service for critical illness, income protection and life insurance applicants, is a confidential service available to customers at a time that suits them. Trained staff help applicants answer sensitive or personal health questions which they may not feel comfortable discussing with their broker.
Nine out of ten advisers surveyed said it was easy to request the tele-interview, 94 percent rated the customer care as quite or very good and more than 80 percent said the interviews were arranged within days. Almost nine out of ten advisers thought the customer literature was very helpful when preparing their clients for interviews.
Chris Pollard, chief underwriter and head of customer service for Bupa Individual Protection said:We are delighted with this positive endorsement from intermediaries. It is clear that our tele-interview service adds value by making the application process simpler and more efficient for them and their clients. In many cases it can also reduce the length of time it takes to offer terms and reduces the likelihood of non-disclosure, which is good for everyone concerned. Clients tell us that having access to the service when it suits them is extremely helpful because they often complete the tele-interview in the evenings and at the weekend.
Bupa's income protection and critical illness products have achieved a five star rating from Defaqto, a leading independent research company, which rates products across the whole market.
