Induction
All four programmes begin with an extensive induction. We really pull out all the stops during this time because we want to give you the best possible start to your Bupa career.
Senior representatives from all over the business will introduce you to the area they're responsible for. You will also receive training in areas such as project management and presentation skills. You will gain a thorough understanding of the company as well as an excellent grasp of Bupa's culture and values.
Team-building is another important part of the induction process. As well as learning through team activities, you'll be set a graduate group project which will see you visiting different areas of the business, meeting key people and experiencing our business first hand. By the end of the four weeks, you'll be part of a really tight-knit group.
Ongoing training
Once the induction is over and you've moved into your first placement, you will continue to develop as an individual and as a group. Offering far more than a classroom, you’ll also learn through working on projects and with input from internal thought leaders.
The aim here is to help you develop the skills you need to become a successful leader within the organisation. Areas covered include commercial awareness, customer insight, personal impact and effectiveness and the global healthcare market.
On-the-job learning
Much of the learning you will be gained through the roles and responsibilities that make up your placements. We will help you to organise your placements so that you gain the broadest possible exposure in the shortest amount of time. Working alongside experienced professionals you'll have the opportunity to draw on their expertise.
High challenge and high support
We believe that people develop optimally through high challenge and high support. Therefore we will make sure that the roles you take on are stretching but that you have a network of people to learn from, as well as coaching and mentoring to help you achieve your objectives. Before you start, you'll be assigned a previous graduate as a buddy. This is someone who can help you settle into the business and answer any questions you may have.
Professional qualifications
Where it’s relevant to your career at Bupa, we'll provide you with financial and practical support to help you study towards professional qualifications.
- Finance graduates are fully sponsored to pursue the qualification of their choice, (CIMA, ACCA or ACA). We pay for all materials, training, exams and travel, and also offer study leave.
- IS graduates will be sponsored for relevant qualifications including PRINCE2, ITIL and ISTQB.
- General and marketing graduates can be sponsored for qualifications relevant to their role. For example previous graduates have studied PRINCE2 and CIPD.
