Lord Leitch


Lord Leitch is Chairman of Bupa. He is also Group Chairman of FNZ (UK) Ltd, Chairman of Intrinsic Financial Services Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Old Mutual Wealth. He is a member of the House of Lords.

He was formerly Deputy Chairman of Lloyds Banking Group plc and Chairman of Scottish Widows plc and a Director of Falcon Power Research Ltd.

In his executive career, Lord Leitch was Chairman and Chief Executive of Zurich Financial Services in the UK, Southern Africa and Asia Pacific and Chairman of Threadneedle Asset Management. He was also Head of Zurich Global Life businesses and Chairman of the Association of British Insurers.

Lord Leitch has devoted enormous energy into improving Society. He chaired the Government's Independent Review of Skills, publishing his report - 'Prosperity for all in the Global Economy:  World Class Skills'. In the past he has chaired UK Cares, the infant and maternal mortality charity MAF, the National Employment Panel, the Balance Foundation, SANE and a think tank called the Centre for Modern Families. He was also Chancellor of Carnegie College, Chairman of the Medical Aid Film Charity, Deputy Chairman of Business in the Community and of the Commonwealth Education Fund. He received the Prince of Wales' Ambassador award for his charity work.

Lord Leitch is a Freeman of the City of London and has a doctorate in Business Administration.
